Such an awesome experience, weather was great, the vibe, the music, the energy of more than 19,000 people made it a successful race , and i’m happy ’cause my b-day month couldn’t start any better. The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K (4.97-mile) run is a Chicago tradition with a course that weaves its way through downtown Chicago, starting and finishing in Grant Park.
The day before i went to the Expo to pick up my (bib number, shirt and goodies for the race) I played some games, checked out some fitness stuff and tried some energy products…
On the morning of the race, I was excited, but extremely nervous. There was never a point in which I was worried about finishing the race. My real concern was questioning how long it would take me to actually run the race, and i did a great time 42:12 (08:30 min/mile)
Running up the hill and across the finish line was an incredibly rewarding experience…
It was a great way to experience Chicago’s loop. It was beautiful to see such a large group of people running together for different causes…
Best part, getting to the finish line filled with adrenaline and receiving my medal (one more for the records)… looking forward to continuing my regular outdoor runs, and trying out new fitness activities and be ready for Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K 2018 … Learn more (HERE)
