I had the opportunity to go away from the routine  and decided to go to St. Petersburg and visit the The Dali Museum ..

Para salir de la rutina emprendi un corto road trip a St. Petersburg de visita al museo de Salvador Dalí..

i was impressed for the beautiful 66,450 square feet structure , and the architectural element known as the Glass Enigma composed of 1,062 ,glass triangles ..

This new building was Designed by architect Yann Weymouth of HOK..

Inside the building there’s another unique architectural feature, a staircase  recalling Dali’s obsession with spirals and the double helical shape of the DNA molecule…

I show you and explain here my favorite of the 96 paintings on display along with a selection of Dali’s works of other media including surrealist objects , prints and drawings..
one of the paintings that caught my attention and didn’t know it was a tribute to Francis Crick and James D. Watson ,who determined the helical structure of  DNA molecule in 1953 . Was the ”Galacidalacidesoxyribonucleicacid” (Hard to pronounce)

Gala contemplating the Mediterranean Sea which at Twenty Meters  Becomes the Portrait of Abraham Lincoln. In this painting he pushes the concept of perception and external sight, the dual nature of things ,life, death and Dali’s spanish and american identity..

When a bench meets a Dali melting clock inspired in his theory of “Softness” and “Hardness”
“The soft watches are an unconscious symbol of the relativity of space and time, a surrealist meditation on the collapse of our notions of a fixed cosmic order”
and of course most of us identify Salvador Dali’s surrealist with his best Known work “The Persistence of Memory” (The one above)
